Lineage option is used to find
out metadata details of an item present in the package and in the report studio
layout. For example, we can view the lineage information of a model query
subject to see how it was created, what are the source tables and columns used,
and what is the data source. We can also view Lineage information for more than
one item simultaneously by using CTRL + SELECT.
Steps to see Lineage Information
- In the Report Studio, go to Source tab à right click on any object Query Subject (or) Query Item à select Lineage option.
- Go to Technical View tab to see the metadata details of Query Subject (or) Query Item.
- In the below example, we are trying to see Lineage details of a calculated column.
- We can also see Lineage information on the report output page after execution.
