Creating Drill-Through Report using Data Item Value in Cognos

Steps

1. Open Report Studio using GO Sales (query) package --> select List Template



2. Add Product type and Product name from Product dimension. Quantity, Revenue and Goss profit from Sales fact as shown below


 

3. Select Product type column and apply Grouping as shown below




4. Select Quantity, Revenue and Gross profit and create Aggregate Total as shown below






5. Go to Query Explorer --> click on Query1



6. Drag and drop a filter from the Toolbox menu and create a detail filter as shown below





7. Save the report with a name Target Report



8. Now, create another report with GO Sales (query) package as shown below




9. Right-click on Product line column --> click on Drill-Through Definitions



10. Click on New Drill-Through Definition 



11. Locate Target Report that was created previously and click on  Edit icon to set the parameters



12. Select Method as "Pass data item value" and pass "Product line" and "Current year" as shown below



13. Save the report with a name "Source Report"



14. Run the report



15. Click on the hyperlinks and check the detail data in Target Report
