Portlet-to-Portlet Communication in Cognos Connection

a. Open Cognos Connection -> Create a New Page.

b. Give some name a shown below.

c. Take ‘2’ columns and add Navigator and Search to the first column and two Cognos Viewers to second column.

d. Select view the page and click Finish.

e. Click on Edit button of the first Cognos viewer in the right-hand side.

f. Give the Channel Name as Window1

g. Similarly, Edit the second Viewer and give the channel name as Window2.

h. Edit the Cognos Navigator Window in the left-hand side.

i. Enable the option “In a destination portlet” and give the name as window1.

j. Do the same for the Cognos Search box and give the Destination Portlet name as Window2.

k. Go to the desired report and click on it to see the results in the right-hand side in Window1.

l. Test the Cognos Search window by giving some report name and run it to see the results in Window2.
